We have entered into an agreement with Gilead Sciences Ireland UC (Gilead), under which we have been licensed the royalty-free rights to manufacture and supply lenacapavir to 120 high-incidence, resource-limited countries, which are primarily low- and lower-middle income countries. The agreement, subject to receipt of appropriate regulatory approvals, grants the right to use lenacapavir for prevention, and for treatment in heavily treatment-experienced adults with multi-drug resistant HIV.

This partnership is a continuation of our history with Gilead on licensing agreements, and was subject to rigorous criteria, given the challenges of manufacturing a complex medicine like lenacapavir.
With the new agreement signed with Mylan Laboratories Limited (a subsidiary of Viatris), Viatris now has licenses for two of the latest long-acting injectables – lenacapavir and cabotegravir, licensed from ViiV Healthcare through the Medicines Patent Pool. The agreements are evidence of our capabilities in delivering complex injectable medicines within our large and diversified portfolio.
